What is Baccarat Betting Strategy?
Most of the gaming tables in Macau casinos consist of baccarat tables, and many of the real high rollers in Las Vegas play baccarat.
Baccarat, also known as Punto Banco, is the most popular casino game in some parts of the world. Among Asian players, baccarat is the most popular.
In the casino’s private salons, these high-roller bets can run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars per round.
For this reason, gamblers are looking for the best baccarat betting strategy, and mastering the betting strategy can win more money.
Best Casino Betting Tips
Having a clear game plan is crucial (as in most other games). If you don’t have a clear idea, you may take on too many unnecessary losses.
For example, did you increase your investment after a loss? Also, would you choose to do this after winning? The financial impact could be huge.
If you are serious about playing real money baccarat, you should ask yourself:
- How much am I going to bet (how high is my limit)?
- How much do I want to win? When do I stop playing?
- Which baccarat strategy is best for my style of play and personal goals?
The latter question in particular is fascinating. Baccarat has many well-known betting strategies. Some of them are much better than others!
What are the odds for Baccarat among the 3 main bets?
In the main game, three outcomes are possible: Player wins, Banker wins, or a draw (draw).
The expenses are as follows:
If the player wins:
- If you bet on a player, you win 1x your bet (2x the total amount paid, including your initial stake)
- If you bet on the banker or tie, you will lose your initial stake
If the banker wins:
- If you bet on the Banker, you win 0.95 x your bet (1,95 times the total amount paid including your initial stake)
- If you bet on the banker or tie, you will lose your initial stake
If the bank wins, you will get (only) 95% of your stake because of the 5% commission. This 5% is the commission usually paid to Baccarat online casinos. You pay this commission for a reason: the bank has the highest chance of winning.
In case of a tie:
- If you bet on a tie, you win 8x your bet (the total amount paid is 9x, including your initial stake)
- If you bet on the player or the banker, it is a push. You don’t win or lose. Your original bet will be reserved for the next game.
It is best to bet on the dealer to win the game. Even with a 5% commission, this bet has the highest theoretical RTP (return to player): 98.94%. It comes down to only 1.06% of the house edge. This makes the bank bet on baccarat one of the best bets in online casinos.
Betting on players results in higher payouts as you don’t have to pay the 5% commission. However, the odds of winning are low. The theoretical RTP for this bet is 98.76%, which brings the bet edge to 1.24%. This is still an excellent percentage compared to many other casino games.
What about tie bets? Best not to bet. Despite being the most profitable (8x the bet), the odds of a draw are by far the smallest. On Tie bets, the bank’s house edge reaches an astronomically high 14.36%. The final dividend payout percentage (theoretical RTP) is only 85.64%.
In some countries and/or online casinos, a tie bet gives you 9x your stake (you get 10 payouts, including your stake), so the odds are more in your favor. In this case, the house edge is much better: 4.84%.
